Freud Tooth Geometries
In this video, our Service Technician Jordan explains Freud tooth geometries and what they are good for. Alternate Top Bevel (ATB) is good for crosscutting and ripping in hard and soft woods. Triple Chip Grind (TCG) is primarily used for crosscutting and ripping in hardwood and on occasion softwood. Flat Grind or (FG) is used for ripping applications in softwood and hardwood. You want to make sure in crosscutting applications you have 5-7 teeth engaged in the material at all times and for ripping applications, you want to have 3-5 teeth engaged in the material.
